COCA Gallery is a provider to schools of high quality art education programmes under contract to the Ministry of Education (LEOTC - Learning Experiences Outside the Classroom).
We offer a number of learning opportunities each term at little or no cost that are designed to provide students in Canterbury with a ‘hands-on’, curriculum-based experience of contemporary New Zealand art in authentic learning contexts.
Situated on the third level of COCA is the Top Floor. This gallery space is dedicated to the exhibition and promotion of students’ artwork; schools are invited to exhibit in the Top Floor, with students actively involved in the curation and hanging of their own exhibition. The Top Floor Curator provides guidance and support in cooperation with art teachers.
